Description

The Beaked Mussel is purple in colour, with a long, symmetrical-shaped shell showing thin curved lines near the edge. Length to 4 cm

Beaked Mussels live in groups and sometimes form mats in similar habitats to Xenostrobus pulex. They feed by filtering plankton from the water when covered at high tide.
