Description
Dead Man’s Fingers is a dark green, mop-like alga with distinctive, regularly forked cylindrical branches. Its furry appearance is caused by a profuse covering of hairs. Up to 30 cm long.

Dead Man’s Fingers grows in shallow sections of the reef platform and will attach to, and grow on, hard material such as bivalve shells and the reef surface.
