Description

Tubular Stringweed is a common, and easily recognisable, brown alga. The long, tubular, unbranched fronds of this hair-like alga are most conspicuous during cooler months.

A habitat forming species on the lower intertidal and subtidal reef. During the warmer months it shrinks to an inconspicuous encrusting organism.
