Mulloway
Scientific Name: Argyrosomus japonicus
Description: The Mulloway is one of south-eastern Australia’s largest estuarine fish and can reach a length of over 2m and a weight of nearly 60kg.
While it is mainly small juveniles that inhabit estuaries and inshore coastal waters, some very large animals have previously been caught in the Barwon River.
The species undertakes seasonal movements along the coast as well as in and out of estuaries.
