Eastern Blue-tongue Lizard
Scientific Name: Tiliqua scincoides subsp. scincoides
Description: Eastern Blue-tongue Lizards have a broad triangular head that is wider than its neck. As the name suggests, they have a bright blue tongue which it uses as a defence tool to scare off predators.
They hunt for food during the warmer parts of the day and feed on a variety of insects including beetles, snails, wildflowers, native fruits and berries. Females usually give birth to 10 live young.
