Where to find
Estuarine areas of the Bluff in soft sediments and sand
Bass Yabbies are soft, pale, prawn-like animals with a long tail and a pair of claws that differ markedly in size.

Forming large networks of burrows under the sand in the estuary, Bass Yabbies are highly sought after prey for species of wader birds that use long beaks to extract them from their holes.
