Description
Isopods are a large group of crustaceans that have grey to yellow bodies, often with a pair of double, flat, oval-shaped plates at the rear. Some have sharp spines on their bodies. Up to 1 cm long

Like their cousins on land, the slaters, many marine isopods feed on decaying plant and animal material and curl into a ball when disturbed.
