Where to find
Common over the reef areas of the Marine Sanctuary where they are sometimes seen in large schools
Zebra Fish have a somewhat compressed silvery-grey body with vertical, dagger-shaped bars. They are oval in shape, with a rounded head and tiny mouth. Up to 55 cm long

Zebra Fish have small mouths and chisel-like teeth enabling them to feed on algae and invertebrates from the sea floor.  Sometimes forming large schools,  these striped fish are often seen in deeper rockpools or amongst the kelp at the Bluff, on reefs and in shallow coastal waters down to 20 m in depth.
