Eleven Armed Seastar
Scientific Name: Coscinasterias muricata

Description: The Eleven Armed Seastar has a mottled grey green and brown body, with 7-14 arms (usually 11). The body is covered with spines equipped with tiny pincers.
One of the largest predatory seastars in Victoria, this carnivorous species feeds on molluscs such as mussels. They can regrow arms lost to predators and the arms are often of different lengths as they regenerate.
