Draughtboard Shark
Scientific Name: Cephaloscyllium laticeps
Description: A bottom-dwelling shark occasionally found on sandy bottoms and rocky reefs around the Bluff.
These small sharks have robust bodies that taper strongly towards the rear and have a pattern of dark and lighter blotches across the back and white beneath.
Their distinctive egg capsules are sometimes found tangled amongst washed up kelp.
These sharks are also called Swell Sharks as they can inflate their body when threatened.
