Sea Sweep
Scientific Name: Scorpis aequipinnis
Description: Juvenile Sea Sweep are common in the Marine Sanctuary and often groups of them will follow snorkelers and divers.
While the majority of these fish seen around the Bluff are juveniles Sea Sweep are a relatively large greyish sweep with a bluish, greenish or brownish tinge, and two broad dusky bands or saddles on the upper sides.
These fishes feed almost exclusively on plankton and detritus and swim well above the bottom.
