Description: This egg laying marsupial mammal may be found anywhere across Australia. They are often seen travelling in search of food, using their sharp claws to break open rotting logs. They use their long sticky tongue to feed on ants, termites and insect larvae. Their spines are actually modified hair which helps protect them from predators.
