Hairy Chiton
Scientific Name: Plaxiphora albida
Description: The Hairy Chiton has a large muscular foot that grips the reef surface, making them well suited for living in areas of high wave activity on the lower edge of the rock platforms.
These large chiton are often covered in a growth of algae, making it hard to distinguish the plates on their backs.
