Coast Spear-grass
Scientific Name: Austrostipa flavescens
Description: Coast Spear-grass is an open, tufted perennial grass with seeds on long awns. It has attractive, glistening, hairy seed heads. This grass tolerates salt spray and grows in all well-drained soils in full sun or partial shade. Its growing period is through the warmer months and is particularly useful for stabilisation of secondary dunes and coastal cliff-top areas.
