Wadawurrung Name: lelon (meaning lizard)
Description: Jacky Dragons have a characteristic bright yellow lining in the mouth. They tend to run in an upright position on their hind legs when they feel threatened. They lay up to eight eggs during summer under sheets of bark or decaying vegetation over sandy soils. The sex of the young is determined by the temperature of the nest. They prey on insects such as moths, flies and caterpillars.
